President’s Message

June marks the midway point of the year. Take this moment to pause, reflect, realign and serve as a catalyst to reignite enthusiasm. June creates an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the past six months and strive to make the second half of the year impactful and fulfilling.

As business event professionals, we build community, cultivate connections and create meaningful experiences.

In continuing to navigate times of uncertainty, our dedication to service and compassion becomes increasingly vital. As a reminder together, we have the power to lead with resilience, uplift those around us, and remind everyone that our collective strength lies in unity and purpose. Let’s continue to collaborate in creating events that inspire hope, foster a sense of belonging and drive positive change.

THE LGBT MPA Interview with Brian Crumby,
Director of Sales and National Events -
Caesars Entertainment

Why is this organization important to the hospitality industry?
Our organization serves as a powerful voice for the global LGBTQIA2+ events community. We are a driving force for progress in our industry—championing diversity and inclusion, fostering professional growth through networking and development opportunities, and delivering impactful education and awareness. Above all, we advocate for the visibility and representation of LGBTQ+ professionals, ensuring their voices are heard and valued across every corner of the events and hospitality world.

How did LGBT MPA get its start and how has it evolved?
Since our founding in 2018, the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association has been dedicated to creating inclusive spaces and championing policies where diversity thrives. Through the passion and commitment of our community, we continue to shape experiences that reflect the rich tapestry of our industry and world.
But we can’t do it alone. We need the support of our community and allies to keep moving forward. If you’re passionate about inclusion in the meetings and hospitality industry, let’s connect. I’d love to chat about how you can get involved and help us build a more vibrant, representative future—together.

How did you get involved and why is it important for our hospitality community to support? Can anyone get become a member?
I saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact—both for the community I care deeply about and the industry I’m passionate about. As a community-driven, international association, we offer visibility and connection across every sector of the meetings and events world.
Our inclusive mission welcomes all meeting professionals—LGBTQ+ and allies alike—whether you’re a planner, supplier, educator, or student. We also offer valuable partnership opportunities for those who want to support and amplify our work.
Together, we’re building a global events community where everyone is seen, valued, and truly belongs.
