Happy New Year GMC PCMA Members!
I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026. It was wonderful to see many of you at PCMA Convening Leaders in Philadelphia.
As we conclude 2025, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dawn Amaskane for her exceptional leadership and boundless energy as President of the GMC Chapter. Dawn’s commitment to advancing our chapter’s mission has made a significant impact, and we are especially grateful for her time, insights, and willingness to go above and beyond whenever needed. The initiatives she helped shape will continue to benefit the GMC Chapter for years to come.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our outgoing board members: Jennifer “Jenny” Lynch, Erin Ciavarella, Lindsay Williams, and our Immediate Past President, Yolanda Simmons Battle, as their terms on the board have now concluded. Thank you for your outstanding service, commitment, and leadership during your time on the board.
Additionally, I would like to send a special acknowledgement to Lindsay Williams for her appointment to the PCMA National Board. Congratulations, Lindsay! The GMC is proud of this accomplishment.
As I step into the role of GMC Chapter President, I feel a mix of excitement, humility, and responsibility. This position is not just a title for me; it’s an opportunity to serve, learn, and help shape our chapter and members’ experiences over the coming year.
Reflecting on my journey with the GMC chapter, I am reminded why I got involved in the first place: the sense of community, shared purpose, and the chance to make a real impact. I have witnessed the difference that engaged leadership and dedicated members can make, whether through event design, professional development, or simply creating a space where people feel they belong. These experiences have inspired me to take on this leadership role.
I also recognize that I am building upon the work of those who came before me. Our past leaders have laid a strong foundation, and my hope is to honor their legacy by continuing what has worked well while remaining open to new ideas. I want this year to be defined by collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership. This chapter does not belong to any one person; it belongs to all of us.
