In Case You Missed It – Dismantling Structural & Systemic Racism with Karsonya “Kaye” Wise Whitehead

On March 23, Dr. Whitehead delivered a powerful Quarterly Education program to GMC members on the origins and pervasiveness of systemic racism, as well as steps each of us can take as individuals to become actively antiracist. She discussed the importance of being more than an ally, and instead being an advocate, using your privilege and power to lift up those around you, and speaking out when you see unacceptable behavior. If you missed this important session, PCMA members can watch on-demand here. Dr. Whitehead also sat down with Convene for a great conversation on creating an antiracist meetings industry. That article can be found here.

Thank you to Phil Ridley for coordinating this incredible event with Dr. Whitehead! Big thanks to the IDE Taskforce and Professional Development committee for bringing the event to life, and to our event sponsor, Encore for their continued support of the chapter.

Save the date for our next IDE Event on April 22!
