Q2 Star of the Quarter

Each quarter, our chapter recognizes one committee volunteer who has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Our Q2 Recipient of the Star of the Quarter award is Robert Lutz with CSI DMC!

Robert is active on the GMC Events Committee. His committee chairs shared that he has been instrumental in planning our educational events, as well as the 2021 GMC Reception at Convening Leaders. He is a valuable member of the committee, and our chapter!

Please congratulate Robert and thank him for his work!

A Little Bit About Rob:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OR MEMORY WITH THE GREATER MIDWEST CHAPTER OF PCMA?
Attending our chapter reception at Convening Leaders in San Francisco this year and connecting with Greater Midwest peers during the conference was my favorite memory. It allowed me to form lifelong relationships on a deeper level and represent the passion and pride we have for our region together. I will also always cherish the events committee meetings and site visits we conducted to help coordinate the chapter events throughout the year. Huge shout-out to Sherry Vale and Jenny Lynch for including me and inspiring me to get involved.

WHO HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN YOUR CAREER AND WHY?
I had to dig deep for this one and truly think about how I even started. Growing up, my mom would take me to the florist where she worked, craft stores, Pier 1 – you name it, the list goes on. Sports and school were still a priority but creativity was something instilled in me from a young age and I owe that to my mom. She’s still with me everywhere I go. Subconsciously, I know anytime I’m designing an event or decorating a space, she’s working through me. Our stories are filled with pages of influence and she was definitely a big part of my early chapters.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?
Find the good in everything you do. There may be some bumps in the road, some challenging requests or unknown territory – but everything you do should have a purpose or a message. Remember why you started on this road in the beginning and find that one thing that’s good that can wipe away a thousand difficult others.

WHERE IS YOUR “HAPPY PLACE?”
I’ve come to realize that it’s not the destination that is my ‘happy place’ but rather those who I am with. It’s the joyous moment with peers at the end of the night after successfully putting on an event. It’s the simple, timeless memories shared with friends laughing and enjoying life. It’s seeing family after months of being away. While beaches and mountaintops are gorgeous, they are nothing to me without the world of people around me.

Anything else you’d like to share with GMC PCMA?
Continue to shine your light and use your voice. You have a purpose, you have strength, you have courage, you have the power to make an impact. Everything you do, do it with love and pride.
