May 2022 Message from the President

Do fewer things better. That is the motto of our year and I think this Chapter is CRUSHING this goal. We set out to have one meaningful engagement per month with our membership while having each of the committees represented throughout the calendar. Being that we are almost halfway through this year, I can say that this is being masterfully achieved with very little volunteer burnout. Thank you to the volunteers who continue to make the PCMA GMC world go around!

WALK IT OUT!!! We want to WIN this year! Run, don’t walk (but really, walk a lot of steps) to sign up for the Stepping Up Challenge where the PCMA Chapters go head-to-head to get the most average steps. Last year we had the most walkers but placed second! Being the competitive person that I am, I am challenging all of you to step up and sign up! This challenge will benefit the PCMA Foundation. Remember, we get bonus points for social shout-outs so start calling out your friends to get moving!

We are just wrapping up a successful Community Service week with the Lakeview Pantry and the volunteers that participated felt like they truly made a difference on behalf of PCMA GMC in the Chicago community. Thank you so much to everyone who participated!

Registration just opened up for our first ever collaboration with IAEE Midwestern Chapter. Stop! Collaborate and Listen will take place on June 1 at the Renaissance Schaumburg. There will be seven sizzling hot topics that you won’t want to miss! And you won’t have to miss it because we have sponsored transportation from downtown to and from the event! For more information and to register, click here!

Calling all golfers! Calling all non-golfers too J We have our first ever PCMA GMC golf outing on July 25 at the Itasca Country Club. Not only will we have golf available but there will also be clinics available for those who don’t golf or want to learn. Stay tuned for more information on registration. If you’re interested in a hole sponsorship or a team, contact Jacky at [email protected]. In the meantime, start thinking about who you want on your foursome!

We have so much going on but at the same time, just enough. To all of the volunteers who are shredding behind the scenes, thank you all for your constant dedication to this awesome organization. You have my utmost appreciation! Let’s keep doing fewer things better!
