Help the homeless by donating Bowl-A-Thon items

The GMC PCMA Community Service Committee is in full gear planning for the 2017 Bowl-a-Thon!  This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 9 at Lucky Strike in downtown Chicago from 5:00-9:00pm. Mark your calendars for an extraordinary evening of bowling, networking with your industry peers, and bidding on great packages!

This year we will offer a combination of silent auction packages and raffles. We will continue to work to increase the number of packages we can offer. The Silent Auction, Raffles, and Wine Pull are an important part of our fundraising effort as 60% of the auction proceeds from this event go directly to our designated charity, Inspiration Corporation, 25% to GMC new education initiatives, 10% to student initiatives & 5% to the PCMA Education Foundation.

Inspiration Corporation’s mission is to help people who are affected by homelessness and poverty to improve their lives and increase self-sufficiency.  They provide an atmosphere of dignity and respect, offering opportunities for social services, employment training, and housing services.  Inspiration Corporation was started in 1989 as a volunteer-run organization and depends on more than 1,500 volunteers throughout each year to help with the day-to-day work of running Inspiration Café, tutoring, and conducting mock interviews for job seekers. Auction proceeds collected at this year’s Bowl-a-Thon, and donated to Inspiration Corporation, will be used to help sustain the resources needed to continue to help more than 2,500 men, women, and families affected by homelessness and poverty each year.

Our Bowl-a-Thon committee is working diligently at securing donations for the Silent Auction and Wine Pull. If you know someone who may be interested in donating you can refer them to the form links above or contact Myria Stanley, [email protected]; Megan O’Keefe, CMP, [email protected]; or Maureen Feck, [email protected].

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2017 Bowl-a-Thon and appreciate the support of this wonderful event!
