Happy 2023 to all our amazing GMC PCMA Chapter Members!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season; I cannot believe we are already in January and rocking and rolling into the year!
I want to start off by extending a huge amount of thanks and appreciation to our 2022 President, Kristi Casale and the amazing group of individuals who served on the GMC Board of Directors. 2022 was a big rebuilding year for GMC coming out of COVID and with your support, the result was an unprecedented year for GMC. I would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to our outgoing board members, Molly Witges, Jennifer Sommers, Kris Jebson, Christine Melendes, and Norma Taylor. Their dedication over the past two years that is immeasurable, and we would not be where we are without their wisdom and guidance.
I would also like to take the time introduce you to the 2023 Board of Directors. I could not be more excited to get to be in the leadership company of this remarkable group of people. I am so excited to see what we are able to accomplish together in 2023.
To build on the amazing work in 2022, the theme for this year is Move Forward with Momentum in 2023! 2022 was a year where we as a chapter were able to see financial stability. We conducted fewer events that were not only successful but valuable to our members, and we were able to collaborate with other organizations, such as: ASAE, IAEE, and MPI. Join me as we work together build upon the success of 2022 continuing to strengthen all aspects of the Chapter. We have many exciting initiatives that our committees are already collaborating on for the year, stay tuned for updates.
On Sunday, January 8, the Greater Midwest Chapter was able to come together at PCMA’s Convening Leaders for our Annual Chapter Reception to kick off the year with a toast. Thank you for participating in an energizing event and a great start to 2023!
We know the importance of our members being able to plan, so please, if you have not done so already register for our upcoming Annual Awards Celebration and Education Event taking place at the Fairmont Chicago on February 8. This event honors and recognizes seven of our remarkable and dedicated GMC members and their accomplishments from 2022. New this year, an education component has been added. Brought to us by the PCMA Foundation, Steve Garguilo will speak on The Science of Taking Action. You do not want to miss this event. Learn more about our award winners, the event and register here!
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to be the president of this amazing organization. I truly do believe that this chapter is the best for many reasons. This community has given me so much and I am grateful to get the opportunity to give back. Without all of the dedicated volunteers this chapter would not be the powerhouse it is!
