September Letter from the President

Greetings!
It is hard to believe we are staring fall in the face. It is my absolute favorite time of year and, yes, I even like winter. Strange for a kid that grew up on the beach in Southern California!

We are thrilled with the turnout last night at our first ever “remote” quarterly meeting which was held at Miller Park in Milwaukee, followed by the Cubs/Brewers Game. It was a good time had by all, though perhaps a little more for the Cubs fans who cheered on a 6-4 victory. We hope to continue our outreach moving forward for all of those members who are not based in the Chicagoland area.

The final Bowl-a-Thon will be held on Thursday, November 8, following our Annual Business Meeting and Educational Program. It is bittersweet, as I was on the committee that began the Bowl-a-Thon 24 years ago…we had about 30 people in attendance! After much feedback from our membership, we realized it was time for a change. The Board of Directors is hard at work figuring out what to do in 2019 to replace this iconic event. If you have any exciting ideas, do not hesitate to email me directly.

Think about how GMC PCMA survives…it is because of you, our members, our volunteers. Please consider volunteering to be on a committee in 2019. It is critical to our success. Volunteering is not just signing up to have your name on the list, it takes dedication and work. It is a fantastic way to network and was truly a catalyst in my career. It is also a ton of fun!

And yes, the holidays are around the corner, once again. Please plan to join us on Wednesday, December 12 at Paris Club for our annual Holiday Mixer.

Happy September everyone!
