Each quarter, our chapter recognizes one committee volunteer who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. For Q1 2021, we have two fabulous recipients as they were just too great not to acknowledge both!

Jatare Barrett, CMP – First up, Jatare Barrett, the Director of Corporate Events and Conferences with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. On the Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (IDE) Task Force, Jatare took the initiative with a professional development event scheduled at the last minute to draft a prospectus and secure a sponsor for a February program. Jatare’s willingness to try something new collaboration with the sponsorship committee led to a victory for the IDE Task Force, and we are grateful!

Phillip C. Ridley, CMP – Next is Phillip Ridley, Meetings Manager with the Emergency Nurses Association. Phillip has gone above and beyond to lead the charge delivering a speaker for an important DEI topic for our March education program. Phillip’s passion for GMC is endless and his collaboration with other committees to create a memorable attendee experience and execute the March meeting has been exceptional.
