November 2018 Letter from the President

Happy Fall to all the esteemed members of the Greater Midwest Chapter of PCMA!

It’s crazy how fast the year has flown by…soon the turkeys will be dressed and put in the oven as we give thanks with family and friends. In the blink of an eye, Christmas, Hanukkah and all of the other festive December holidays will be upon us. Yes, my tree will be up before Thanksgiving…don’t judge! I hope everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy some holiday cheer with those that mean the most. There are a ton of events coming up and I hope many of you will be in attendance:

Thursday, November 8, 2018

  • Annual Business Meeting and Educational Program held at the AMC Theater in River North. Join us as we discuss the theme: Change Your Mind, Change Your Health, Change Your Life. Register here.
  • The Bowl-a-Thon will be our last one ever, held at Lucky Strike. Lanes are still available. Register here.

Thursday, November 29, 2018

  • The ALL new Leader’s Day. We have changed things up and combined various meetings into one Leader’s Day. This event is for those currently serving as leaders for the Chapter, volunteers, and for those who want to get involved. Watch the website for more details.

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

  • The GMC PCMA Holiday Mixer taking place at Studio Paris Nightclub. Join your friends and colleagues as we celebrate the holidays together at this fun venue. Register here.

January 6-10, 2019

  • PCMA Convening Leaders in Pittsburgh. There will be excellent educational and networking opportunities, making this an event you won’t want to miss. The GMC PCMA Chapter Reception will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at The Heinz Center. Register here.

I will save my reflections on the year for the final newsletter of 2018 in December. In the meantime, to all those suppliers out there…get those contracts in! For all those planners out there…sign those contracts! This time of year is always stressful as we are pushing to end the year. Back in the day we would be standing next to the FAX MACHINE at 11:45pm waiting for that last contract to come across…glad those days have changed.

I hope to see you all at the Annual Meeting and Bowl-a-Thon!
