WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OR MEMORY WITH THE GREATER MIDWEST CHAPTER OF PCMA?

I went to Convening Leaders a few years ago in Austin, TX and received the PCMA 20 in their Twenties award. Having the full support of everyone in the GMC chapter to people I’ve met briefly and people I work closely with, made me feel like I have an extended family within the GMC chapter.

WHO HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN YOUR CAREER AND WHY?

I’ve crossed paths with some amazing individuals but the first woman I interned with at EventsDC was Chinyere Hubbard, the VP of Communications/Marketing. She taught me so much and challenged me at a young age to be the best. She personified who I wanted to be. Also, my mentor who brought me into PCMA and guided me along the way, Tyra Dyson. I joined the student chapter of PCMA and went to Convening Leaders because of her. Both of these influential women have shaped my career tremendously.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

“Be selfish with your energy and your time” …We work in a stressful industry. It’s important to manage your stress, and take time off to recalibrate. It’s your time and you control where it goes.

WHERE IS YOUR “HAPPY PLACE?”

I recently purchased an essential oil diffuser (Best purchase ever!) and I dedicate 4 hours a week to playing the piano. I’ll turn on my diffuser and begin to play and get lost in the Chopin, Stevie Wonder, a broadway music composition, and that’s my happy place!
