We are almost through the first quarter of 2022 and let me tell you, we have been one busy chapter. These committees have taken their charges are crushing some goals! Last month we had the wonderful Zontee Hou speak on the Three E’s of Engagement and it was AWESOME! The attendees, both planners and suppliers alike, could not stop talking about the immediate take-aways from the program. We did not let a little (a lot) snow stop us from getting together and hearing this amazing speaker!
I would also like to take an opportunity to thank the PCMA Foundation for sponsoring the speaker and the Embassy Suites Magnificent Mile for generously hosting the Education Event, the Reception and the GMC Board Meeting. I would also like to thank Ronnette Phillips on behalf of the Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Committee for sharing information on Black History Month and to Jon Hixon for sharing his personal story to bring awareness not only during February but all times of the year.
Both the Professional Development Committee and the Awards Committee have been hard at work putting together a memorable Awards Event at the Fairmont Chicago who has graciously offered to host the program. If you have not registered already, please be sure to sign up today!
I personally want to thank the Sponsorship Committee for really stepping up to the plate already in 2022! This group has been challenged with a huge goal this year and I am pleased to say that they are well on their way to achieving it! Thank you to all of the sponsors who have already stepped up. I know that the committee is close to achieving the goals for the Awards event but if you’re interested in being a part of this well-attended event, please contact Jacky at email@example.com.
You may be hearing soon from the Community Services Committee for donations for the…drum roll please…return of the BOWL-A-THON!!!!!!!!!! This event holds a special place in my heart as I chaired that committee for a number of years. Stay tuned for more details as the committees work through dates, times and details but we’re going to get back to BOWLsics!!
If you’re not already following us on our socials, please be sure to get on it! The Marketing Committee has leveled up our feed so be sure to follow along for instant updates on chapter news and announcements!
As always, our Member Engagement Committee has been busy with outreach to our members in all seven states (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin). There is also a significant focus on the Emerging Leaders to help them navigate this industry with mentorships (psst sign up to mentor or be a mentee: https://greatermidwest.pcma.org/chapter-news/2022-mentor-program/) and an education series. Stay tuned for a membership survey so the committee can better understand our chapter needs!
This year is already shaping up to put us in a positive financial position and it’s because of those of you that attend, those of you that sponsor and those of you who put in the volunteer time to make the Chapter the best! Keep up the amazing work GMC PCMA community!!!
