July Letter from the President

Happy July!

I trust you all had a wonderful time celebrating this great country with friends and family on the 4th. I am always in wonderment how fast the days go by. It is only 173 days, 25 weeks, or 4,140 hours until Christmas! Those out there who know me, know how much Christmas means to me and the tree is usually up before Thanksgiving. Yes, I am one of those.

Your ever-important committees have been hard at work this year keeping the Chapter in excellent shape, our membership strong, and our events at full capacity. I encourage you to take the time to consider giving back to our Chapter by volunteering. We are always in need of members who are willing to give their precious time and work hard to keep GMC moving in the right direction.

Speaking of moving in the right direction, who is ready to take the leap and become part of the GMC PCMA Board of Directors? Our Board is a fun group of leaders who hold a challenging but rewarding position. We are always looking for new talent to take on the tasks at hand and make a difference. In the coming weeks, look for our 2019 Board nominations and consider submitting a nomination.

Don’t forget to register for our GMC PCMA 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Brickhouse Tavern near Wrigley. We are going to have a great evening celebrating many years of our Chapter’s success. Many of our past presidents will be in attendance as well, and it will give you a chance to get to know a wonderful group of professionals. Planners and current enrolled students please be advised that registration is complimentary. We do have a nominal fee for suppliers. I hope you take this opportunity to connect with your colleagues and toast to our future!

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to be taking our September Educational Program & Reception to Milwaukee on Wednesday, September 5. We will hold the meeting at Miller Park followed by a Cubs vs. Brewers Game at 7:00pm for just $29. It will be a great afternoon and evening of education, networking, and fun! Registration is now open, and tickets are limited.

Enjoy our Midwest summer and I look forward to seeing everyone on August 1 at Brickhouse Tavern!
