GMC Peers Honored Next Month in D.C.

In its inaugural year, the PCMA Education Foundation Visionary Awards delivered on its promise to inspire all who attended the sold out event.  Embrace your VIP status at this year’s event as you attend an evening illuminated in gold.

2017 Meeting Professional Lifetime Achievement Honoree:
Martin Balogh, Associate Executive Director-Meetings and Travel Group at the American Bar Association (ABA), has served on both the PCMA Board of Directors and the PCMA Foundation Board of Trustees.  Balogh has served on countless committees and led many throughout the years.  He was instrumental in reviewing and improving governance practices on both Boards.  Balogh has helped define what the industry comes to expect from a true professional having served the ABA for decades rising through the ranks to hold one of the top positions.

Balogh is a role model to many outside of his organization.  He exemplifies the importance of building balanced relationships between meeting organizers and the supplier community.  He is consistent in holding his organization and staff to a high-level of ethical behavior while supporting them in being engaged in PCMA and give back to the industry.

2017 Meeting Professional of the Year Nominee:
Danielle L. Urbina, CMP, Director of Meetings and Exhibits, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), is an outstanding meeting professional who is dedicated to her work and her industry.  An active member of PCMA, she is passionate about medical meetings, and is always seeking ways to expand her knowledge and contribute to the future of the meetings industry. She is a mentor to many, and takes the time to truly connect with her industry colleagues-and help them grow and improve in any way she can.  Not only did she lead ASA’s national meetings, conference center to another level of success, she also took on the management of ASA’s growing international meeting initiatives.

2017 Supplier of the Year Nominee:
Julie Mullins, Vice President, Convention Sales, Choose Chicago, her passion for her city and her colleagues, have helped push Julie to the success she finds today.  A valuable member of our community, Julie continues to be engaged with all aspects of the business events industry.  She is a natural leader with a desire to influence positive change and cast a vision for the future.
