GMC 2020 Volunteers

Are you interested in expanding your resume and your network through unique challenges and opportunities? Then look to join one of the Greater Midwest Chapter of PCMA’s committees!

Whether a seasoned veteran or an emerging professional, your talent, expertise and energy will help to sustain GMC as one of the strongest chapters of PCMA.

Committees:

The Awards Committee is responsible for the selection process of the annual Chapter awards to recognize outstanding achievement by the volunteers. The Committee will review all criteria and update all nomination forms and letters yearly. They will process all biographical information, acknowledge all nominees, and select winners for all awards, with the approval of the Board as required.

The Chapter Relations Committee is focused on creating opportunities and engagement in every state of the chapter. The job of the Committee is to implement educational offerings to states outside of the Chicago region in coordination with the Education and Event Committees. This Committee is also responsible for engaging and coordinating events with local chapters at like Associations (ie: MPI, IAEE, SITE). A conference call option is provided for all Chapter Relations Committee meetings for those that cannot attend in person

The Communications Committee acts as the communication arm for all of the GMC PCMA Committees to convey their needs and activities to the membership. Through the GMC website, LinkedIn and Facebook pages, and monthly newsletter, the Committee provides educational articles, covers current news, and informs members of future and past GMC PCMA functions. Members of this Committee will liaison with all chapters in communicating needs and activities to membership.

The Community Services Committee is responsible for the coordination of community service projects within the chapter and promotion/support of the activities of PCMA’s Community Service Committee programs. The focus has been on supporting a charity in the Chicagoland area to allow for personal volunteer opportunities to give back to the local community. Other activities allow for increased opportunities for networking, education, awareness of social issues, donation of food and surplus goods, and volunteer service to area food drive programs.

The Education Committee delivers advanced educational opportunities to the GMC PCMA membership. This includes coordinating timely and relevant content and educational delivery methods for the quarterly educational meetings. They also assist with outreach programs (educational programs held outside the Chicagoland area) for GMC PCMA members.

The Events Committee oversees and coordinates all social and networking activities of GMC PCMA. This includes but is not limited to Member Mixers, networking aspects of quarterly educational meetings, and special events. The Event Committee will work closely with the Education Committee to meet the goals set for specific events.

The Membership Committee strives to retain current members, increase the membership base in GMC PCMA, and build stronger relationships through outreach and marketing efforts.

The Sponsorship Committee develops, plans, and manages the sponsorship program, which raises funds for Chapter educational programming and networking activities. In addition to generating revenue, the Committee creates effective recognition programs for sponsors by encouraging creativity and partnering with other committees to help facilitate communication.

The Student Membership Committee strives to retain current members and convert them into regular members after college graduation. The Committee strives to increase memberships by developing chapters at various universities in the Midwest. Students become members because they develop industry contacts, meet prospective employers, acquire internships, acquire industry mentors, and develop a resource for speakers
