NEW & TRENDING SPECIAL EVENT SPACES IN CHICAGO

The eagerly anticipated The Hoxton has opened in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The industrial-chic, 182-room hotel features Cabra, a rooftop Peruvian restaurant helmed by celebrity chef Stephanie Izard, in addition to basement cocktail lounge Lazy Bird and Cira, a 200-seat all-day Mediterranean restaurant. Groups can rent The Apartment, the Hoxton’s meeting and events space made up of five separate rooms with access to The Pantry, a fully stocked kitchen.

The over-the-top Barton G. restaurant recently opened its doors in the River North neighborhood, promising guests a unique experiential dining experience. The larger-than-life dishes have a dramatic Cirque du Soleil quality to them (witness the whole roasted duck served in a giant birdcage accompanied by a video of dancing ducks). The two-level eatery features a second floor reserved for private parties.

The recent expansion of all vessels in Shoreline Sightseeing’s Star fleet (the Bright Star, Star of Chicago and Evening Star) affords planners excellent options for day and evening private group charters. Plan a two-three hour charter on one of the open-air, double-decker boats, accommodating 75 to 175 guests. There’s space for buffets, passed hors d’oeuvres, and even a dance floor.

The Dalcy is a private event hall located in the historic Fulton Market District. The 6,000-square foot venue and 4,000-square foot rooftop patio is the ideal setting for cocktail receptions, social and business gatherings, and corporate events. The menu features a well-curated cocktail and wine program and chef-driven modern American fare.

Billed as the nation’s largest rooftop venue, Offshore Rooftop & Bar sits on the third floor of Navy Pier’s Festival Hall and offers panoramic, unmatched views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. Offshore, an all-seasons/all-weather venue, offers a range of special event spaces with unique features, including private lawns and oversized “playpens.”

Theater on the Lake, one of Chicago’s only Lakefront event venues, is a historic Prairie-style building with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Chicago’s skyline. The venue offers flexible event space for groups of 25 to 1,500 with clean, open sightlines.

Located in a historic 1911 building, the Bridgeport Art Center has two unique event spaces: the Skyline Loft, a vast open space with stunning views of the Chicago Skyline; and the Sculpture Garden, a bricked, partially covered courtyard peppered with sculpture by local artists. The center is just five miles from downtown Chicago.

COMING SOON

Here are some of the most hotly anticipated spaces opening soon in Chicago.

Opening in Fall 2019, RPM On The Water is a dramatic four-level restaurant located on the north bank of the Chicago River. The venue will feature an entire level dedicated to parties and banquets, accommodating groups as small as eight for intimate gatherings or for more than 300 guests for large-scale corporate events and more.

Epiphany Center for the Arts, located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, is a former 19th century church complemented by a stylish modern annex. Opening in Fall 2019, the venue’s amenities will include catering kitchens, VIP rooms, and a collection of artistically designed outdoor spaces.
