2016-2017 Student Scholarship

The Greater Midwest Chapter of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) is offering one (1) tuition-based scholarship for student leaders within the GMC PCMA Community.  Applicants are considered based on academic record, written essay, meetings industry experience, GMC PCMA involvement and letters of recommendation.

Recipients of this scholarship will receive:

  • $5,000 tuition based scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year. Funds are distributed directly to your college or university.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current student member of PCMA
  • Full-time student with a major directly related to the meetings or hospitality industry
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)

Application Requirements:

  • Completed Leadership Scholarship Application
  • Copy of current résumé, including extracurricular activities, industry experience and honors or awards
  • Copy of University Transcript (can be unofficial)
  • Essay of no more than 1,000 words that describes the influences in your life that led you to pursue studies in the hospitality and meetings industry as well as any activities related to your studies that have been beneficial to you as you look to begin your career.
  • Short paragraph describing the potential impact receiving this scholarship would have for you for the year.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from a faculty advisor, internship supervisor or PCMA professional or supplier member.

All application materials must be submitted together and postmarked no later than April 28, 2017.
